I get a good number of tweets, emails, and messages from VoodooPad customers along the lines of "I love VoodooPad, you rock, please keep it up". Which is wonderful because I love VoodooPad as well and use it every day.

So here's my first random observation: judging by my auto-update stats (which doesn't include MAS customers but is generally correlated with revenue) Acorn has around 6 times as many users as VoodooPad. Yet VoodooPad gets way more love notes. Isn't that odd? (Of course, Acorn gets its share of notes as well).

Here's the other random observation- Mac App Store sales of VoodooPad and Acorn have been going down over the past couple of months, but direct sales have been going up. And I don't know why. It's the same price, and previously the trend had been in the opposite direction, but… well there it is. Are savvy users fed up with Sandbox issues? Will it bounce back the other way some day?

That's all. Just some things I've been thinking about lately.

And for the heck of it, here are the OS stats for VoodooPad and Acorn:

VoodooPad: 34% on 10.6, 31% on 10.8, 19% 10.5, 15% on 10.7 (leaving 1% other).
Acorn: 54% on 10.8, 24% on 10.7, 20% on 10.6, and 2% left for 10.5/4.
