(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

So here I am at work, trying to get stuff done, and there's the faint aroma of BBQ coming from outside. Oh, and the blaring sound of fire alarms going off.

The rams are playing (or getting ready to play) some football just a couple of blocks away from here, and there are lots of folks bbq'ing outside. Including some idiots doing said bbq'ing right outside our security door in the back. The security door that they left propped open. The same security door which has been propped open and is letting in lots of smoke from their bbq. Which set off the fire alarms

Good move.
