(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

So a couple of weeks ago, when a new mall opened up here in Sunny St. Louis, my mom got lucky and won a $300 shopping spree at Famous Barr. Well- actually, she only got halfway lucky. The $300 bucks could only be spent on men's clothing. Which ment me and my uncle were the lucky ones. And then my uncle decided that he didn't need anything, so I got the be the sole lucky one.

And now I have $293.48 worth of clothing in a couple of Famous Barr bags by my feet.

But it wasn't as easy as it sounds to do this- there were a few rules. I had to buy from specific "collections"... like Tommy Hilpufer, DNKY, Nautica, or Polo. So it was almost like a cruel joke- I got to get some free clothes and such, but I had to dress up like a yuppie. It was like "Brewster's Millions" with a twist.

In the end, I managed to pick out a few things that even I could surely wear. I just need to figure out how to get that damn "Ralph Lauren" flag off the sleeve of one shirt, and I think I'll be alright. And now I can say I own a $90 dollar sweater.

And at least my mom ended up getting a free dinner from her favorite (and only) son :)
