(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

So, I was trying to convince myself to open up a .Mac account from Apple. But I can't really convice myself. I've been toying with the backup stuff they have, but it's pretty lame, I've already got a homepage... and iCards, whoop de doo. Anti-Virus software is included, but who the hell gets viruses on a unix box? And then I can get extra support.

Bah. I guess that 100 megs might be handy, but their iDisk is too slow. I could set one up on mu.org, or on my own network... Now that would be cool and useful.

Oh well, no .Mac for me.
