(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

About the IAT Services Knowledgebase

"December 8, 1998

The IAT Services Knowledgebase was originally written by Gus Mueller of the Open Systems Group (formerly Systems and Applications Group), a part of IAT Services.

The IAT Services Knowledgebase is a decendent of a perl script created in May of 1997 by MU.Org called the Student Guide. The Student Guide was ported to java to run as a servlet one evening by Gus as a little experiment, and it is from this code that the IAT Services Knowledgebase was born. In a sense, the IAT Services Knowledgebase it is really the Student Guide 3.0.

The IAT Services Knowledgebase was created on an Apple Macintosh, is written completely in Java, and uses an Oracle database to store all of its articles in. "
