(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Warning- sappy boyfriend/girlfriend related stuff to follow.

So it was a year ago last night that Kirstin and I had our first kiss (awww) down at Sam's Throne, AR, sitting atop that piece of rock you see above. It was a good weekend, I red-pointed a 10d I had been working on, Kirstin got in some good climbing and did her first lead belay, and Andy and George... did something noteworthy I'm sure.

So anyway, this past weekend we went down there, to do some climbing and mark the anniversary and such. Only this time while sitting on the very same spot on the very same rock, there was a little ring involved and an answer of "Yes".

That's right, we're getting hitched. I even asked her father for permission a month or so ago when we went up to Seattle to visit (talk about a shocked guy...).

Not too many details at this point- the plan is to have a small wedding + reception in St. Louis, and then to have a party in Seattle. We've thought about using jimi as the ring bearer .. he would probably do it for a couple of treats I'm sure. I'll put up more details when they emerge.
