(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

So the mu.org box changed today. It's the box that gusmueller.com is hosted on. We got some new disk to go with it too- 1210.5 gigs worth. That's 1.2 terabytes. Wowsers.

Also of note, is that freebsd's java is finally catching up to the realworld. So the box now has the 1.3 jdk installed- super cool. As of this moment, I'm going to say goodbye to 1.1 java.

Goodbye 1.1 java. I'll miss you.

We also had our choice of 1.4 - but I don't think that implementation is ready just yet... 1.3 is faster (on freebsd) from what I understand... time to update my projects and start using the Collections API everywhere.
