(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Well, I took apart my iPod this evening- it's been acting up recently, and has had the symptoms of firewire connector breakage... when I got it all apart, I found out that I was right- the little "pins" that hold the firewire port to the board were broken. And unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to fix it. So I don't know what to do now. I might try and solder it, but I don't think that'll work... the pins are way too close together, and the next time I plugged it in, it would just come undone again. Bummer.

I've got pics, I'll post em later on probably.
