(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Bug fixing and bug tracking updates.

Not much progress with VoodooPad lately- this is because I made a promise to myself to try and fix all the bugs first before adding new stuff... and #@!#%! are there a couple of nasty bugs. Did you know that the german sharp s (ß) has a lowercase letter according to certain Apple classes? The lowercase version is "Ss".... right- a capital s and then a lowercase s. It's either time to file a bug report, or Apple should let the Germans know about their mistake.

The weird thing is, it only happens with certain NSString classes.. works fine with the constant string, but not the NSCFString. arrrrg. Took me a very long time to figure out a solution to it.

Hmmm. Maybe I should add a Cocoa category to my blog. Or maybe before that I should add a category function to it.

Worked a little bit with the little bug tracking app I wrote for Flying Meat.. I'm not too happy with the direction it's taken. It's getting cluttered... and I need to add some fields so I know which version of VoodooPad a bug is being reported against. I need to take a week off and just get a bunch of stuff done.

Too bad I've got a day job. Why doesn't everyone just buy 100 copies of VoodooPad each, which will set me up for a little while, and I can get some work done? Huh?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- Apple also released WebKit yesterday. I've already demoed it to a couple of people at work and the reaction was "WOW". I got a web browser up and running without writing a single line of code. I'm already thinking of how I can add it into BlogShop- and some apps that I'm working on at my day job too... WebKit is neat.
