(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Ok, I got my copy of GarageBand installed, and I made my first track. And I'm going to make you listen to it.

Yes, I am going to torture the internet this weekend. All weekend.

#74 (mp3, 2.2M) #74 (acc, 2.2M)

Don't ask why it's called #74- it's the first thing that popped into my head. Starts out kinda groovey, and at about 20 seconds in you hear me on my guitar. I gotta figure out how to get some more bass out of my guitar...

So anyway it's pretty easy to use. It looks like if you want to do anything complex with it, you are going to have to have a fast disk and a fast processor though. Right now the only problem I have with it is that the 70's guitar amp that John Mayer demo'd isn't in the default install. BAH. I suppose I'll eventually have to get the extra music pack to pick it up.

Ok, now to try out this new keyboard...

Update: I just listened to the song again, after putting some distance between me and it. Man I sound sloppy. And the volume is up way to high. Oh well. I guess that's what we get when Apple puts these types of tools in the hands of amateurs. Now someone else put their tunes up and let me know about them so I don't have to feel so embarrassed.
