(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Ok, I've changed my mind- I've got a couple of resolutions for the new year after all...

The first one is to redpoint at least 5 different 5.11a's or harder (it's a climbing thing). Off the top of my head, I can only think of one that I did last year so this might be a reasonable goal.

I'm also going to work on being focused at what I'm working on. It's been a while since this has happened, and I think it's mostly an environmental thing, but when you are focused that's when the real programming gets done. And I sort of miss that.

And I think I'll start running as well, um.. just as soon as it starts to warm up a bit.

Update: Now that I think about it a little bit more, I redpointed another 11 besides "Lasso the Vultures" (the one mentioned before, from down at Jackson's Falls). I redpointed "Lips and Assholes" at Sam's, which is an 11a. I also did it on my first try leading it.. plus I've redpointed "Snake Rattle and Role" a couple of times which is a 10d (Here's a pic showing the angle of this one). Maybe I should make my goal to get at least 5 5.11's, one of which must be an onsite, and at least one 11c. And more trad as well.
