(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

So the big MacWorld news today is that Apple released a bunch of updated apps, and new mini iPod's, and a new application called GarageBand.

GarageBand is an application that lets you make loops and record and write audio files and such- at it's targeted at guitar players with cool things like amp emulation. Hey- I'm a guitar player!

I can't freaking wait to use this application. It's been a while since I tried to record anything- but I still have my trusty Tascam US-428 that I hook up every once and a while. And since it looks like GarageBand is a remake of some Emagic software (which you'll remember Apple bought a little while back) I'm sure it'll interface just fine.

W00t- can't wait to use it. The demo looked super cool. And John Mayer (who helped give the demo) was even playing little SRV licks... that makes me happy.

Expect to be tortured with some bad music once I get my hands on it.
