(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Congrats to Rogue Amoeba who got an award for "Best Of Show, MWSF 2004". Their app Nicecast was noticed- it streams out audio from iTunes to anyone with a net connection.

Paul Kafasis (of Rogue Amoeba) wrote me tonight and said they handed out over 4600 cd's with their software on it. Which was uber cool, because VoodooPad was on there as well. Wooo hooo! I was wondering why sales were picking up a little bit lately..

And more good news (sorta. it's mostly just news I guess) - I'm soooo close to releasing VoodooPad 1.1.2b1, which has some new tricks and stuff. I really wanted to release it Monday, but some i18n things sorta got in the way. But I've got it all figured out now, here's the scoop:

I wrote a little web app that basically has the localized resources from VoodooPad in it- so myself, along with my very helpful volunteers, can update the languages without stepping on each other's toes. It's not completely done yet, but it's functional.

Anyway, so what I can do then is download a file and then with the help of a python script I wrote, it'll rip through all my English .nib files and translate them for me using nibtool. This gets rid of a burden I've had where I have to remember to update the outlets and add menus and stuff for each language that I add.

So that frees up a little bit of extra work for me (I still have to review them though), and lets me focus on the things that I like doing- programming.
