(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Ok- a non tech post... right. Here we go:

Kirstin is back from her clinical in Tennessee and will be around for about 5 months. She'll be down in Arkansas for 2 months during the summer, then she'll be back for 3 weeks in which time we'll tie the knot, then she flies off for 3 months. So we need to get the wedding stuff planned well ahead of time.

Kirstin has got all the invitations made- that's right, hand made cards with little ribbons and stuff.

The deposit has been made for the place we are having it.

The cake was decided on last night as I tried a sample after dinner (mmm- free cake!)

She's gone around and registered at some fancy places that I can't even begin to pronounce. I wanted to register at Lowes because there are some router bits I could use.. but that idea was quickly shot down.

Kirstin has got her dress and it is all wrapped up and hanging in my closet. I'm forbidden to look at it, but I have seen the shoes. I hope that doesn't count.

It's going to be a small wedding. I'm sure that'll upset at least a couple of my friends that aren't invited since I have to really trim down the list... but.. well, it's going to be a small wedding :)

Since all of Kirstin's family is in the Seattle WA area, we'll also be having a reception there. We can't really expect everyone to fly out here, so we'll fly out there and eat more food and drink more wine. Maybe I can secretly register at a Lowes out there or something...

I've got ideas in my head of trying to make a little refactoring tool in XCode- I checked out IntelliJ IDEA's stuff the other day for a good example to copy. Of course, it's just an idea at this point and we know how that goes... wait. Crap. Ok, I guess this turned into a tech post anyway.

Let me make an addition to my little law below:

There can be multiple "best" tools.

Ie- product a can be just as good as product b, it just depends on what you are doing. Ok, enough tech talk, I need a warm fuzzy what's happening in Gus's life post.
