MarsEdit 1.1b5, aka the first public beta is ready. It's a beta, so there are bugs (and I'm already working on b6), so if that sort of scares you a bit you can just wait until 1.1 final is released.

Brent already has a writeup on his blog about it. I'll throw in my two cents here.

It's a cool upgrade. Some new features, some bug fixes, very deserving of the 1.1 title. I'm sure there will be some disappointments because feature xyz didn't get in there... but we do what we can. And that's hard enough as it is with the sorry state of weblog api implementations right now, and yes- that even includes you atom.

uh oh.... I started getting worked up about that again. That'll have to wait till after MarsEdit ships, as a post mortem or something.

Anyway, what I was going to say in a not so nice of a way is that there is actually a lot more work unseen in MarsEdit dealing with so many different weblog systems, and the subtle differences between them. The debugging aspect of this is such a drain that it doesn't leave a whole lot of time for new features. Which is kind of a shame. So if you wonder why you've been waiting so long for this upgrade, that's why.

But MarsEdit 1.1 is turning out to be a pretty fun upgrade in spite of those problems, so check it out. And then send me your bug reports via the MarsEdit beta forum :)
