(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Brent and Sheila Simmons tell all at DrunkenBlog's 500th post.

Brent says "It's a little bit like farm life -- but modern, urban, digital farm life. We grow software."

I think Kirstin would kill me if we ever had to work together full time.

I never have time to write when I am busy. And I've been pretty busy lately. So here's the short list of what's been going on.

Workers came in and started sanding the floors on Monday. They got done on Thursday- they turned out great. It's like getting a new house.

Spent some time up in Chicago this past week and stayed at hotel Dill. It's nice because it's free and there is a friendly pup named Murphey to keep us company. Byron and Courtney were super good hosts, and they even sacrificed one of their Shakespeare's half bakes for us which was above and beyond the call of duty. They have a pretty swank place as well.

I got G5 at work finally. But then The Man took it away because it was making funny chirping noises. The theory was it was the power supply. It was kind of fun for a day because you could use SystemLoad to make it play a scale with the power supply. Try doing that with a Dell!

So I went through all kinds of trouble to make the problem reproducible for Apple support, left notes on the desktop that said "Apple dudes don't read me" and when I got the machine back 10 days later... it was still chirping. And now it the system freezes when I run this super complex perl script: while (1) { print "crash!"; }

So The Man will takith away again.

Yesterday we got the pups back from the kennel, and apparently they learned how to smoke pot while they were there.

I played around with LinkBack a little bit yesterday. It looks pretty cool, and I'll have to see what I can do about baking in support for VoodooPad and FlySketch when it goes final.
