(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

SubEthaEdit 2.2 is out. Besides being a great text / programmer's editor, it's now a universal binary.

(VoodooPad supports SubEthaEdit edit as well with it's "Edit in SubEthaEdit" menu command).

FlySketch 1.5 is finished! Hurray!

I'll be waiting to update the website till tomorrow morning, but if you would like to grab it now, here you go. Mac OS X 10.3.9+ required.

I've also updated the wiki with a new page: What’s New in FlySketch 1.5?. Here's the sort version:

  • PDF Workflow support.
  • Fancy Pants Palettes.
  • Smooth freehand lines.
  • Resize canvas to super small.
  • New color picker.
  • Shadows on Graphics!
  • Compositing modes.
  • Grids!
  • New startup pref.
  • Lots of new menu widget commands.
  • New "round rectangle" shape
  • New "configure sheet" for new shapes
  • New line end shapes in addition to arrow- circle and diamond.
  • Auto-detect new workflow scripts
  • Lots of other little things to make life better with FlySketch, and of course various bug fixes.

I'm also going to be offering a bundle if you want to purchase both FlySketch and VoodooPad together- "Save Your Cash", $39.95 for both apps. (That's 20% off. Very observant readers will note that means FlySketch is going up from $19.95 to $24.95. Not enough people complained about the price being too high, and I just like the sound of $24.95 better. If you hurry, you can still get it for $19.95)

So thanks to all the beta testers, and to everyone who's given ideas, bug reports, and feedback on FlySketch in the past. I couldn't have come up with all these ideas myself.

(Update: And by "tomorrow morning" I mean today. Because I never changed the time zone from central to pacific, and I made this post late at night.)
