(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

I put up a new build of Gesture, beta 2. Changes in this release are:

  • Animated previews.
  • Works on multiple monitors.
  • Holding down the key for more than 1/4 second executes the gesture on release. Holding it down for less than 1/4 second (like a tap) will require it to be tapped again to execute the gesture.
  • Fixed a problem where you could reassign a gesture to the wrong selection... or something like that. Anyway, it's fixed.
  • Gestures can now be imported and exported.
  • Nag screen!

A note on the animated previews- since I'm now storing the paths and not an image of the path, you'll need to trash your old gesture catalog (make sure to export custom gestures first), and then relaunch Gesture to see them. Or you can just reassign ally the symbols in your catalog... which might be a pain.
