(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

I just had another iPhoto discovery that I thought I would share.

Recently I mentioned Safari's "Add Image to iPhoto Library" contextual menu, and how much I like it. Unfortunately it looks like this menu is unique to Safari, and not available by default to apps which use WebKit. Which meant that NetNewsWire didn't have this menu item. Bummer.

Then I noticed that I could just drag and drop (in 10.4) an image from within a WebKit view onto the iPhoto icon in the dock, and it did the right thing. Woot.

I thought this was done via Application Services somehow- but peeking at iPhoto's Info.plist file makes me think that's not the case. I wonder how this is being done then?

At any rate, I thought it was cool and I had to share.
