(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

Happy Pi Day everyone. I hope it's been good for you. Myself, I spent this afternoon working in the garden instead of doing real work that pays the bills. Yes, it's getting to be that time of year again.

But that's not what this post is about. No, this post is about me doing my part and pointing out a couple of mac apps that I think are pretty cool and should be noticed by everyone... who reads my blog. All 7 of you.

First up is Podcast Maker from Potion Factory. I love everything about this app. Everything from the way the disk image looks to how it handles and the amount of style that drips off it. I'm not about to start podcasting or anything*... but if I was I would certainly use this app. I did however keep it on my disk just so I can use it as a reference for when I get stuck with my ideas. Macworld likes it too- Podcast Maker got 5 freaken' mice from them!

Next up is Kitty Spangles Solitaire from Swoop Software. Ok, stop laughing at me- I'm serious. It's solitaire, but it's really well done and the art is pretty awesome. But of course the art is awesome, it was done by David Lanham, who rocks. Plus, it uses Lua, and we don't need to go into how much I love Lua again.

So check em' out.

...

(* It's not a podcast, but I have been having fantasies of starting my own little downloadable video series called "How to Play the Blues, by Gus Mueller". Guitar blues, with a bit of humor thrown in. Stop laughing- I'm serious. However, the main problem with this idea is that finding the time to do this is a fantasy as well.)
