(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

It's time to start thinking about... IRONCODER 2.0!!!11! (July 21-23)

Since I won the last round, that means I get to be the judge this time around. (Here's a funny fact: I also came in last place. You figure it out). And I get to decide the rules as well! So we're going to change things just a little bit to see if we can get some more participation out of everyone. That, and we checked to make sure everyone isn't out of town this time.

Instead of 24 hours to learn the api, and 24 hours to implement with the theme- you'll get a full 48 hours with both the api and theme. This will obviously make things a little easier for the coders. I'm also required to make my own project as an example, using the api and theme. Everyone will get to see it and say something like "ohh- I get it now...".

And... prizes! Yes, not only is there the glory of winning ironcoder, or coming in second place, or even last place- but you get some loot as well. (So far we've got stuff from Mr. Gruber of Daring Fireball, Martian Technology, Stunt Software, From Concentrate Software, Happy Apps, Delicious Monster, Infinite Nexus Software, and of course Flying Meat. If you want to donate something- shoot an email to gus@flyingmeat.com). And as a bonus the person who places highest, is 21 or over, and is attending WWDC, gets a whole bunch of free drinks on some as of yet to be decided night. We'll get you good and sloshy and make you recite all of NSString's methods from memory... grouped by task. It'll be great.

If you've got any questions or ideas or want to give us a hard time, drop by #macsb on freenode and chat with us.

(Oh, and happy 4th of July everyone!)
