(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

I've got a beta of VoodooPad 3.0.1 up on the latest builds page. The preview release notes contain all the changes, but in general it's got some bug fixes in the areas of web export, backlinks, and the web server in VP Pro. Who knew that a socket timeout of 1 nanosecond was too short?

Not all the known issues have been fixed, but the bugs that have been fixed are the ones that are hitting the majority of users. I wanted to get a better build out there for people sooner rather than later. The plan is to release it tomorrow night or early Tuesday assuming all goes well.

The biggest bug in 3.0 (from my standpoint anyway) is a usability one. If you try and paste a VoodooPad 3 serial number into VoodooPad Pro, it's rejected without saying "Hey- go download Pro!". So people (rightly) send me email complaining that the shiny new serial number they just purchased doesn't work. Ouch. That's gotta suck. Lesson learned on my end.
