(This post is from my old, old, super old site. My views have changed over the years, hopefully my writing has improved, and there is now more than a handful of folks reading my site. Enjoy.)

A couple of days ago marked the 18th anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughan's death. Stevie was one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived, and a major influence on just about every guitar player who ever heard him.

Here's a couple of live songs I've got picked out for you:

Shake For Me and Texas Flood, April 1, 1980.

Change It, Dec 7, 1985. The end of this one kills me. And then he goes right into Jimi's Voodoo Chile'. (And yes trivia fans, VoodooPad was named after this song).

And if you just want a little taste of SRV, then you should listen to this 38 second clip of him playing Chateau Strut.
